SPX Technologies advances HVAC and Detection & Measurement solutions that support safer, more efficient, and sustainable communities. The GTAW Welder will transform drawings into durable, high-quality assemblies that keep critical infrastructure projects moving.
Responsibilities
- Accurate layout, positioning, and securing of parts and assemblies to engineering requirements.
- High-quality joining using GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and spot welding methods; tacking and final welds.
- Clean, safe finishes using grinders, sanders, or saws to remove rough areas.
- Pursue growth through training with the potential to test for ASME certification.
Requirements
- 1–3 months of relevant experience and/or formal training.
- Proficiency reading a tape measure.
- Ability to interpret and follow engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of TIG, MIG, and spot welding tools and techniques.
- Certifications in TIG, MIG, and stick welding are nice to have.
- High school diploma or GED is nice to have.
- Regular standing and hand use; frequent walking and communicating; reaching with hands/arms.
- Occasional sitting, climbing/balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Lift/move up to 10 lbs on a regular basis and up to 25 lbs on occasion.
- Vision capabilities: close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical components, fumes/airborne particles, electrical shock risk, and vibration.
- Noise levels are typically very loud.
