Overview
The Blueprint & GD&T Welding Specialist in Heavy Fabrication is responsible for executing specialized welds on various materials while ensuring quality and compliance with specifications. The role requires critical thinking, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Execute specialized welds on steel, aluminum, and stainless to exacting standards.
- Translate blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications into precise weld plans.
- Prepare, configure, and operate welding equipment and tooling safely and efficiently.
- Review finished welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Partner with teammates and cross-functional groups to meet schedule commitments.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional welding certifications welcomed.
- Demonstrated experience with advanced welding techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of welding safety standards and practices.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering prints.
- Meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Physical endurance and strength suitable for shop tasks.
- Proficiencies in GD&T, tape measure reading, production welding setups, and blueprint reading.
- Experience with MIG and Stick Welders, and 2D Drawings.
