Overview

The Senior Lab Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the Analytical Lab, ensuring efficient operations and compliance while collaborating with various departments to meet production KPIs and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Laboratory operations are efficient, production, and cost effective.
• Oversee two shifts of 4 lab techs each.
• Ensure that the Laboratory facilities are safe and within environmental compliance.
• Analyze the results of test work including sample prep, cyanide leach, preg-rob, ICP data, fire assay, LECO, and XRF.
• Ensure quality end of month, quarter, and yearly reports are produced.
• Trouble-shoot problems within the lab and communicate solutions to the Chief Metallurgist.
• Support the site in working with various operational groups to ensure quality results.
• Review, recommend, and implement new or enhanced testing equipment or protocols.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Mineral Processing, or equivalent Process related degrees preferred.
• Five or more years of production laboratory experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Budgeting and capital planning preferred.
• Able to follow the scientific method to design experiments, perform research, analyze data, and take action to resolve issues and improve processes required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to recognize occupational hazards and instigate safety precautions required.
• Investigate root cause(s) of poor performing processes, identify contributors, and execute corrective actions required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required.
