Overview
The Millwright is responsible for operating and maintaining various industrial equipment while collaborating with the Operations Team to achieve operational goals. Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a well-established grain company with over 450 employees, focused on safety, quality, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain multiple pieces of equipment including bin gates, bucket elevators, and distribution systems.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and production equipment.
- Align motors, pumps, and gearboxes using precision measurement tools.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and minimize downtime.
- Replace and repair bearings, belts, shafts, and other mechanical components.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and conduct routine inspections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Assist with the installation, alignment, and startup of new machinery.
- Collaborate with electricians and maintenance teams on repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and standards.
- Maintain flexibility to work rotating shifts and extended hours.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or millwright work.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery installation and precision alignment practices.
- Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems and related maintenance practices.
- Experience with bearing replacement and mechanical component repair.
- Ability to safely perform rigging and equipment moving activities.
- Proficient in precision measurement tools.
- Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures and OSHA standards.
- Basic computer proficiency and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced team environment.
- Periodic travel to various facilities as required.
- Ability to move freely throughout facilities and work in high places.
