Overview
MSC Industrial Supply Co. is a leading North American distributor of metalworking and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products and services. The Onsite Service Specialist I role in Bronx, NY involves providing excellent customer service and managing MSC ControlPoint Solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and drive savings.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with procurement and order placement.
- Manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions including Vendor Managed Inventory and Vending.
- Determine optimal sourcing strategies for key customer projects.
- Participate in customer plant and production meetings.
- Collaborate with the account team to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Resolve on-site customer product and service issues.
- Provide customer service in accordance with MSC standards.
- Communicate customer concerns to management.
- Work closely with vendors to locate product sources and arrange training.
- Foster the MSC Culture in the department and company.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- College degree preferred.
- 2+ years of inbound/outbound telephone sales, outside sales, storeroom or inventory management, or customer service experience required.
- Industry experience preferred.
- Relevant Military experience a plus.
- Metalworking knowledge and experience is a plus but not always required.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with email and Windows operating system required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.
- Working industrial knowledge preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to lift items of up to 50 pounds required as needed.
