Overview
Jefferson County is seeking Road Technicians I, II, or III to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance, and repair of county roads, bridges, and related structures. Responsibilities
- **RT I:** Perform heavy manual labor, including digging ditches and asphalt patching.
- **RT I:** Operate a variety of construction and light vehicle equipment.
- **RT II:** Operate medium to large sized trucks and equipment with auxiliary controls.
- **RT II:** Perform general labor and skilled public works maintenance activities.
- **RT III:** Schedule and guide work projects, estimating time and materials.
- **RT III:** Oversee and perform skilled public works maintenance activities.
- **RT III:** Train others in using medium-sized and heavy construction equipment.
Requirements
- **RT I:** High school graduation or equivalent required.
- **RT I:** Experience in operating light trucks and related equipment preferred.
- **RT II:** Typically requires at least three years as a Road Technician I.
- **RT II:** Road Scholar 1 certification and other leadership training.
- **RT III:** High School Diploma or equivalent.
- **RT III:** Experience operating heavy equipment and rock crusher.
