Overview

A growing company in Pickens is seeking a skilled Welder who can interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process. The ideal candidate will join, fabricate, and repair metals while complying with safety protocols and inspecting completed welds for structural soundness.

Responsibilities

• Create quality welds according to drawings and welding symbols.
• Perform GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW in all positions as needed.
• Select proper fillers for jobs based on experience or project instructions.
• Read a tape measurer and follow all welding procedures.
• Inspect welds for accuracy.
• Prepare products to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
• Change weld wire and shielding gas as needed.
• Package, identify, and move finished products to the proper location.
• Ensure all equipment is set up and used safely.
• Operate a forklift if needed.
• Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.
• Perform simple maintenance and repair as needed.
• De-bur and grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
• Implement personal and company safety measures by wearing required PPE.
• Operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics.
• Experience with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW welding processes.
• D1.1 & D1.5 Certification is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measurer.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in hazardous environments.
