Overview
Olympic College is seeking a full-time, tenure track welding faculty member for its Bremerton welding program, which offers an Associate in Technical Arts Degree in Welding Technology and short-term certificates. The college, located in Bremerton, Washington, serves over 13,000 students annually and is committed to providing quality education in a beautiful setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach welding courses in various delivery formats.
- Provide student education and career advising, mentoring, and support.
- Contribute to faculty team meetings and activities.
- Update existing curriculum and create new programs and courses.
- Plan and set up classrooms and instructional shops.
- Identify individual learning needs of students.
- Utilize assessment activities to evaluate student learning.
- Stay current in the welding field through professional development.
- Develop connections with local employers.
- Maintain regular office hours for students and colleagues.
- Serve on college and community committees.
- Oversee shop equipment maintenance and supply purchases.
- Work with the Dean to schedule adjunct faculty.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Welding or related field.
- Teaching experience.
- At least 5 years of welding industry experience.
- History of Welder Certification in common metal groups.
- Current Certified Welding Inspector or Associate Inspector.
