Overview

The Microwave Laser Seal and De-Lid Technician position at BAE Systems involves performing high-precision hermetic sealing and laser welding operations on critical components during the Weekend Day Shift. This role emphasizes meticulous adherence to process instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing to advanced electronics technology for defense applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision laser welding to create hermetic seals on components.
• Execute environmental stress screening (ESS) to validate seal integrity.
• Conduct machine de-lidding operations for inspection and rework.
• Strictly follow written process instructions and quality checklists.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate laser welding stations and test chambers.
• Conduct visual inspections and utilize measurement tools for quality control.

Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Experience of 2+ years in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to operate laser equipment and environmental test chambers.
• Attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex technical manuals.
• High level of manual dexterity for handling small components.
• Certification in laser safety or specialized welding techniques.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems.
• Prior experience with cleanroom protocols and ESD prevention.

Additional Information

• This position supports the Weekend Day Shift working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00AM to 3:00PM.
• Employees work 36 hours and are paid for 40 hours plus earn a 10% pay premium.
