Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a Shop Service Technician specializing in welding, fabrication, and structural repair of heavy equipment, particularly Caterpillar machines. The role involves working in a modern, well-equipped shop in Londonderry, NH, focusing on real-world repairs that enhance equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding processes including Stick, MIG, and Carbon Arc Gouging.
• Fabricate and repair equipment and attachments.
• Complete layout, measurements, and fabrication from prints and drawings.
• Create patterns or layouts when drawings are not available.
• Perform structural repairs on major components like booms and sticks.
• Select proper materials and welding methods based on repair requirements.
• Set up and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.
• Assist with general equipment repairs and component installation when needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Welding and/or fabrication experience, preferably with heavy equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong understanding of welding materials and methods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Your own tools.
• Machining, line boring, or heavy equipment experience is a plus.

• Pay: $35.04–$47.49/hour based on experience
