Overview

SAVARD Personnel Group is seeking a Marine Electrician with experience in marine and industrial electrical systems. The role involves maintaining and repairing electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safe electrical connections for vessels at dock.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical systems across shops and dock (480V/240V/120V systems).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve outages, equipment failures, and power distribution issues.
  • Maintain lighting systems, panels, breakers, transformers, and disconnects.
  • Maintain electrical components of cranes, forklifts, compressors, welders, and shop equipment.
  • Diagnose motor controls, starters, VFDs, and control panels.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment, including wiring and commissioning.
  • Support fabrication shop needs (temporary power, welding machines, etc.).
  • Maintain shore power systems and dock electrical infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to vessels while at dock.
  • Ensure safe electrical connections for visiting vessels and job setups.

Requirements

  • Must have experience in Marine and or Industrial Electrician.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems (single-phase and three-phase).
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, controls, and distribution systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for field work.
  • Marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial experience.
  • Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and automation systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • TWIC card (or ability to obtain).
  • Occasional overtime and emergency call-outs required.

Additional Information

  • Shifts: Monday-Friday, 0700-4:00 PM with overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Duration: Temp To Perm.
