Overview

The Maintenance Technician will utilize welding and metal fabrication skills to fabricate, repair, and modify plant equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize welding and metal fabrication skills to fabricate, repair, and modify plant equipment, structures, and components.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and facility equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment including conveyors, pumps, and processing systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using observation and testing equipment.
  • Complete operational maintenance tasks such as lubrication, painting, and minor piping repairs.
  • Respond promptly to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and malfunctions.
  • Support equipment changeovers, startups, shutdowns, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Perform facility and utility maintenance including HVAC and compressed air systems.
  • Accurately complete work orders and document inspections and repairs in the CMMS.
  • Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and quality requirements during maintenance activities.
  • Report any food safety, quality, or regulatory concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with production, sanitation, quality, and maintenance teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing improvements.
  • Participate in utility upgrades, capital projects, and infrastructure improvements as assigned.
  • Backfill other maintenance or operations roles as needed.

Additional Information

  • Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday with 1 day off during each week, and every other weekend.
