Overview
The Maintenance Technician will utilize welding and metal fabrication skills to fabricate, repair, and modify plant equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Utilize welding and metal fabrication skills to fabricate, repair, and modify plant equipment, structures, and components.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and facility equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment including conveyors, pumps, and processing systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using observation and testing equipment.
- Complete operational maintenance tasks such as lubrication, painting, and minor piping repairs.
- Respond promptly to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and malfunctions.
- Support equipment changeovers, startups, shutdowns, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Perform facility and utility maintenance including HVAC and compressed air systems.
- Accurately complete work orders and document inspections and repairs in the CMMS.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, and quality requirements during maintenance activities.
- Report any food safety, quality, or regulatory concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with production, sanitation, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing improvements.
- Participate in utility upgrades, capital projects, and infrastructure improvements as assigned.
- Backfill other maintenance or operations roles as needed.
Additional Information
- Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday with 1 day off during each week, and every other weekend.
