Responsibilities

• Perform manual work activities involving various city department functions.
• May be assigned to street maintenance, traffic control, sanitation, landfill, transfer stations, parks, cemetery, or other projects.
• Perform tasks associated with street maintenance, including painting street lines and installing street signs.
• Operate a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools related to department activities.
• Transport, load, and unload equipment and materials used in projects.
• Perform general maintenance tasks to keep machinery and equipment operable.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels of equipment and supplies.
• Utilize safety equipment and monitor the work environment for safety.
• Prepare and complete various forms and reports.
• Communicate with supervisors, employees, and the public to coordinate work activities.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance during business hours.
• Undergo drug tests and alcohol screenings as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five months of previous experience or training involving equipment operation or manual labor.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of hire.
