Job Description
Overview
A well-established company in the Anderson area is hiring a MIG Welder to repair and modify industrial storage racks. This position offers steady work with great hours, including half-day Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Repair and modify industrial metal racks
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment
- Read blueprints and weld assemblies to meet customer standards
- Assess returned racks and provide details for repair/modification quotes
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding
- Perform final inspections and make spot repairs as needed
- Accurately record materials, quantities, and labor time
- Safely operate a forklift to move materials
- Travel occasionally to customer sites for on-site repairs
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Welding experience (MIG preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and weld specs
- Comfortable working with hand tools and welding equipment
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Strong attention to detail and safety
Additional Information
- Pay: $17–$19 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Fridays: HALF DAY, Weekends off
