Overview

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is a leading North American distributor of metalworking and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products and services, seeking a Key Account Sales Consultant for the Public Sector to drive revenue growth and build customer relationships in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Spend 100% of time on Public Sector opportunities and accounts.
  • Drive sales at all Public Sector account customer facilities within assigned regions.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to address customer needs.
  • Engage customers by linking their business priorities to MSC's value proposition.
  • Develop relationships with key Public Sector agencies in the region.
  • Gather and analyze information on Public Sector accounts to create a growth business plan.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Public Sector customers and market conditions.
  • Establish value before ROI/financial terms with customers.
  • Rally internal resources to ensure deal momentum.
  • Tailor presentations to specific customer requirements and agency culture.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com for customer relationship management.
  • Identify and arm mobilizers within customer organizations.
  • Research industry trends impacting customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with users, influencers, and decision makers.
  • Team with Subject Matter Experts to deliver relevant expertise.
  • Deliver Costs Savings Documentation to demonstrate value.
  • Manage content in sales funnels and other platforms accurately.
  • Complete professional development training in a timely manner.
  • Foster MSC culture and participate in special projects.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Distribution or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2 years demonstrated track record of success in Public Sector sales is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of compliance requirements and continuous education.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
