Overview
TDO is supporting a well-established Central New York manufacturing organization in the recruitment of a Senior Fabricator. This company produces high-quality industrial products in a hands-on, team-oriented environment focused on safety, craftsmanship, and operational consistency.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate sheet metal components to specification for continued manufacturing and finished products
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, rollers, spot welders, rotary machines, drill presses, mills, pneumatic tools, and flanging machines
- Support daily workflow and production consistency across the fabrication area
- Serve as a technical resource for less experienced team members
- Assist in training and mentoring employees on equipment and processes
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and support problem resolution
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and production expectations
- Reinforce safe work practices and maintain organized work areas
- Support cross-training and operational flexibility
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvements and efficiency
- Opportunity to mentor and develop other employees
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 8 to 15 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing work
- Strong hands-on experience with fabrication equipment such as press brakes, rollers, and forming tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment
- Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and support team lifts up to 100 lbs
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or mentoring role within a metal shop or manufacturing environment
- Associate degree in a metalworking-related program, completion of an apprenticeship, or equivalent formal technical training
- Experience supporting training or onboarding of fabrication employees
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
