Overview

The Welder in Training position involves performing welding on various structures and weldments according to code requirements and specifications. The role requires a broad knowledge of welding technology and experience, reporting directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all position welding on structures and weldments according to code requirements.
  • Set up welding equipment and obtain necessary electrodes and tools for jobs.
  • Examine welds for size, penetration, and quality.
  • Prepare surfaces to be welded using various tools.
  • Operate material handling equipment as needed.
  • Read blueprints and work instructions accurately.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced employees.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm for professional development.

Requirements

  • Technical Trades School in Welding.
  • High school GED required.
  • 1+ years of welding experience.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
