Overview

The Sr. Building Maintainer position involves performing skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings and mechanical and electrical equipment. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment screenings and verification of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled tasks in the repair, maintenance, and installation of heating systems, plumbing fixtures, and equipment.
• Alter, repair, and maintain buildings, floors, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, and wood fixtures.
• Maintain, repair, and install refrigeration, ventilation, kitchen, laundry, elevator, and other mechanical equipment.
• Test and repair electrical light and power distribution circuits, equipment, and appliances.
• Perform minor plastering, cement work, and interior and exterior painting.
• Replace broken window glass and repair or replace window cords.
• Plan work, estimate materials and supplies required, and inspect work sites.
• Operate power equipment and miscellaneous hand tools.

Requirements

• Three years progressive experience in the building maintenance field.
• Possession of a valid State of Michigan driver's license at the time of appointment.

• Employees must maintain residency within 20 miles of the nearest boundary of the City of Flint.
