E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 that specializes in various engineering services. The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is responsible for inspecting welding procedures and ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Be familiar with approved construction drawings and Company specifications.
- Understand the Contract document as it relates to their duties on the project.
- Maintain a detailed inspector's logbook.
- Complete and submit relevant inspection reports accurately describing the work performed.
- Report safety issues to the Chief Inspector, Construction Manager, and Safety Inspector.
- Plan and organize inspection duties in advance.
- Discuss design changes or material substitutions with the Construction Manager and obtain proper approval.
- Verify all materials used comply with Company requirements.
- Keep the Chief Inspector informed of any problems or anticipated friction points.
- Understand the relationship between quality assurance, quality control, and inspection procedures.
- Verify that a welding procedure is established and each welder is qualified.
- Monitor the quality of welds performed per WPS and client specifications.
- Ensure repairs to correct defects in pipe welds meet requirements.
- Assure all welding materials are of proper type and quality.
- Track all materials used for pipeline construction.
- Ensure compliance with all project-specific environmental requirements.
- Inform the Chief Inspector of any safety or construction deviations.
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through the American Welding Society.
- Documented and verifiable work experience related to transmission/process piping and API-1104.
- Minimum of either NACE Coating Inspection Program (CIP) Level 1 Certification or AMPP Basic Coatings Inspector Certification.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Obtain Operator Qualification (OQ) status as required by the project.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and client personnel.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely for reports and correspondence.
- Skilled with M.S. Office suite.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.

Additional Information
- Work may require extensive driving to reach job sites and client/E2 offices.
- Frequent ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and measure devices at close distances.
- Work in both inside and outside environmental conditions in all four seasons.
- Can work extended and overnight shifts without limitations.
