Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems.
  • Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
  • Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions.
  • Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions.
  • Cut pipe using various tools.
  • Thread pipe using a threading machine.
  • Bend pipe by hand or with a pipe-bending machine.
  • Assemble and install various types of metal and nonmetal pipe and fittings.
  • Join pipe using various methods including threaded, caulked, and soldered joints.
  • Use hand tools to secure pipe to structure.
  • Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
  • Test piping systems for leaks.
  • Weld holding fixtures to structural steel members.
  • Travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
  • Maintain in-depth relations with team members and supervisors.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
  • Applicable Pipefitter training and certificate from NCCER, NCCCO, or from approved 3rd party certification body (preferred).
  • Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy.

Additional Information

  • Full-Time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week.
  • Travel required up to 90%.
