Overview
This is a field-based, project-to-project role requiring significant travel, focusing on welding and coating inspections for pipeline and energy infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding inspections per AWS, API, and client-specific standards
- Conduct coating and corrosion control inspections per NACE/AMPP standards
- Review welder qualifications, WPS/PQR documentation, and material certifications
- Inspect surface preparation, coating application, and DFT measurements
- Document findings, prepare daily reports, and issue NCRs as required
- Interpret applicable codes including API 1104, ASME B31.8, and SSPC standards
- Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and client QA/QC teams
Requirements
- Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Active NACE/AMPP coating certification — Level 1, 2, or 3
- 3–5+ years of field inspection experience in pipeline or energy infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of applicable welding and coating codes and standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, isometrics, and specs
- Valid driver's license; willingness to travel extensively
- Physical ability to work in field conditions
