Overview
At Great Dane, the CF-Quality Inspector performs quality control inspection activities throughout the production process, ensuring trailers meet established quality standards. The company is a leading manufacturer of trailers and truck bodies, dedicated to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections at various points in the production process.
- Conduct audits to ensure trailers meet quality standards for structural integrity, functionality, and appearance.
- Complete QC checklists to identify items needing correction before production release.
- Report deviations from acceptable QC levels to the QC Manager and manufacturing personnel.
- Inform the manufacturing supervisor of problems for corrective action during manufacturing.
- Make final assessments of trailer conformance to quality standards and specifications.
- Prepare required trailer documentation for distribution.
- Participate in problem-solving team activities including defect cause analysis.
- Execute processes for non-conforming material areas.
- Update Built-In Quality Gate KPI boards and log data.
- Perform Critical Audits and Layered Process Audits as scheduled.
- Perform other routine duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in welding is a plus.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools.
- Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
- Aptitude to learn and retain information.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to read welding and engineering drawings.
- Ability to document information accurately.
- Effective communication skills in English.

Additional Information
- Office and plant environment with physical demands including lifting and standing for 8-12 hours.
- Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuver large parts up to 180 pounds.
