The Vehicle and Equipment Technician position in Star Valley involves providing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to various vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and reliability for Gila County and its employees. The role requires operating service trucks and maintaining a clean and safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections on County vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct diagnostics to determine necessary repairs and perform road tests.
• Maintain and repair gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
• Assist with heavy duty vehicles and equipment maintenance.
• Use various tools and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
• Document repair and maintenance information electronically and on paper.
• Operate service trucks for field service maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Design, fabricate, and install vehicle accessories and modifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of directly related experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Basic training in gasoline engine maintenance and repair required.
• Professional trade and/or technical certification desirable.
