Overview
The Senior Custodian position involves assisting the Custodial Supervisor in leading custodial teams across multiple County buildings, ensuring high-quality service and cleanliness. The role requires a combination of custodial experience and supervisory skills, with responsibilities including cleaning, maintenance, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Custodial Supervisor with leadership and guidance of custodial teams.
- Commute between multiple County buildings to perform cleaning and custodial duties.
- Lead custodians in sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
- Wipe, dust, and polish furniture and metalwork.
- Perform quality assurance inspections for all areas.
- Coordinate and plan daily activities and scheduled project work.
- Develop and maintain task schedules with the Custodial Supervisor.
- Clean and polish woodwork, walls, windows, and window blinds.
- Empty recycle bins and trashcans.
- Straighten and arrange office furniture.
- Sanitize and stock supplies in restrooms.
- Clean outside areas and walkways, including trash removal.
- Identify and report facility repair needs.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and monitor usage levels.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Train staff in proper techniques and usage of equipment and chemicals.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs as needed.
- Maintain communication with the Custodial Supervisor regarding daily operations.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Four years of custodial experience.
- Six months of supervisory experience.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Annual ISSA certification required.
- Successful completion of a background check.
