Overview
This is a temporary opportunity with many benefits at Missoula County, where employees are committed to positively impacting the community. The Maintenance and Stewardship Specialist will perform general maintenance, technical repair work, and stewardship activities on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain landscaped areas, park improvements, and rental facilities.
- Assist with facility and grounds winterization and spring start-up duties.
- Perform grounds work including sweeping, snow removal, and tree pruning.
- Report maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to the Parks and Trails Operations Administrator.
- Maintain an inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Solicit quotes from vendors and schedule contractors for repair and maintenance.
- Oversee vendors within parks and trails system for compliance with safety and security requirements.
- Operate and oversee various vehicles and motorized equipment.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain rental facilities including cleaning event space and assessing damage.
- Assist in short-term and long-term maintenance planning efforts.
- Oversee maintenance and stewardship activities of seasonal staff and volunteers.
Requirements
- Requires high school graduation or GED.
- Requires two years of grounds, building, and equipment maintenance work experience.
- Special event experience desired.
- Requires a valid MT Driver's license.
Additional Information
- Position funded from May 1st to August 31st with the possibility to extend to September 30th.
- Schedule may include occasional work on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- May require serving in an on-call capacity.
