Overview
The Senior Vehicle Mechanic position involves performing skilled mechanical work related to the repair and maintenance of automotive and mechanical equipment, including diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various types of vehicles and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, maintains, and performs general mechanical repair work on light and heavy equipment.
- Performs general mechanical repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance work.
- Inspects, tests, and repairs engine components and systems.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools for repair and maintenance.
- Tests machinery, equipment, and parts for proper operations.
- Performs general maintenance tasks to keep tools and equipment in good condition.
- Makes emergency service calls for disabled vehicles.
- Receives and processes various forms, reports, and documentation.
- Communicates via telephone and/or two-way radio to provide information and assistance.
- Responds to routine requests for information or assistance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Vocational/technical training in mechanics.
- Two years previous experience and/or training in automotive/mechanical repair.
- Valid Air Conditioning/CFC Recovery certification required.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in Automotive or Truck Specialization required.
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within six months of hire.
