Overview
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Welder for their Engine Center in Bridgeport, WV. The role involves precision welding and metal fabrication for gas turbine engine components in a regulated aviation maintenance environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate gas and electric welding equipment for complex fusion and resistance welding.
- Perform welding operations on various thicknesses and types of metals using oxyacetylene and electric-arc methods.
- Weld cracks, build up materials, and replace details based on drawings and manuals.
- Conduct grinding, deburring, and polishing operations before and after welding.
- Perform welding operations on tooling, equipment, and plant maintenance.
- Maintain up-to-date certification as required by the company.
- Program and operate Auto T.I.G. and ABAR furnace.
- Ensure timely workflows through the work center.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional welding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Spot-Welding processes).
- Demonstrated welding certifications or experience with Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Additional certifications or experience with titanium and/or magnesium.
- Experience operating vacuum furnace equipment.
- Prior experience in aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial repair environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, repair manuals, and work instructions.

Additional Information
- This position works on the 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-1:30am.
- Training may take place on another shift for up to 6 months before officially moving to 2nd shift.
- This is an onsite role.
