Overview
The Welding Instructor provides welding and blueprint reading instruction at partner high schools within the College’s service area, serving as the on-site representative of the Welding Technology program. This role focuses on delivering quality instruction and maintaining relationships with school personnel while supporting dual enrollment and workforce pipeline initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Delivers welding and blueprint reading instruction at assigned high school sites in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Maintains a safe and orderly shop environment and enforces safety protocols.
- Prepares lesson plans, assessments, and course materials; evaluates and grades student work.
- Serves as the primary point of contact at assigned high schools and builds productive working relationships.
- Communicates regularly with high school partners regarding student enrollment and academic progress.
- Advises students on academic progress and assists with registration and support services.
- Maintains required records and submits departmental reports and documentation.
- Remains current with developments in welding technology and instructional best practices.
- Serves on college committees and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Welding Technology or Applied Science, or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years of welding industry experience and/or welding instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high school setting and communicate professionally.
