Overview

The Plumbing Pipe-fitter / Pipe Welder at Southern Air, Inc. is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in commercial and public buildings. Responsibilities

• Install and repair piping systems in commercial settings
• Read and interpret blueprints and P&ID schematics
• Prepare and fit large bore weld pipe
• Perform pipe fitting for screw and weld applications
• Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, and copper
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Drive to job sites for extended periods
• Stand, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Work with construction materials, equipment, and chemicals

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in the piping field
• Strong understanding of pipe fitting techniques and take-offs
• Experience working with multiple piping materials and systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable with a strong work ethic
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug and background checks
• Safe and effective use of tools and equipment
• Customer-focused and professional communication
• Adaptable and able to handle changing job site conditions
