Job Description

Overview

The Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a highly motivated Construction Maintenance Projects Supervisor for the Washington Corrections Center (WCC) in Shelton, Washington. This role involves overseeing construction and maintenance work to support the facility's mission of processing and classifying adult male felons sentenced to prison in Washington State.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and perform skilled construction and maintenance work.
  • Supervise a crew engaged in construction and repair of buildings and other structures.
  • Ensure completion of evaluations and monitor staff compliance with training.
  • Provide on-site inspection of buildings and grounds to determine maintenance needs.
  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates and projections for tasks or projects.
  • Order materials required for priority tasks.
  • Hire and train incarcerated individual workers as needed.
  • Conduct daily tool crib inspections and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Act as on-site project coordinator for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Train incarcerated workers in maintenance tasks and safety procedures.
  • Create and maintain a preventative maintenance plan for equipment and systems.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment and systems.
  • Supervise snow removal operations for the facility.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Four years of experience in construction or building maintenance work.
