Overview
The Millwright Welder is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining industrial equipment, including mills, pulverizers, and conveyors. This role requires hands-on experience with heavy machinery and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle, assemble, or fabricate general equipment.
- Diagnose and repair general plant equipment.
- Handle heavy, bulky units in rigging, moving, and setting them.
- Make decisions on salvaging or scrapping equipment or parts.
- Repair, fabricate, or improve metals by welding or cutting.
- Use blueprints, verbal instructions, or original ideas to perform work.
- Assist other crafts as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules.
- 4 years of Manufacturing and/or heavy industrial experience.
- Proficient in equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience in machine building/assembling.
- Pneumatics experience.
- Motor replacement/repair/maintenance skills.
- Conveyor chain replacement experience.
- Hydraulics experience.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Skills in rigging and load handling.
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Experience in equipment installation.
- Ability to read blueprints.
