Overview
Tyler Junior College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Welding Technology to provide classroom instruction and college service, primarily on weekends. The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching and student success while adhering to college policies.
Responsibilities

- Maintain current knowledge and experience in the teaching field.
- Create a professional and respectful classroom environment.
- Adhere to college policies and standards of conduct.
- Design instructional activities appropriate to course rigor.
- Facilitate student learning and successful course completion.
- Align learning opportunities with student competencies.
- Integrate workplace skills into the classroom.
- Motivate students in a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Maintain scheduled office hours and meet all classes as scheduled.
- Follow prescribed course syllabi and inform students of learning outcomes.
- Attend required department and school meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and submit attendance and grade reports.
- Model professional conduct and enforce student conduct policies.
- Network with community members to promote the program.
Requirements
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Associate’s degree in welding or equivalent industry certifications and experience.
- Demonstrated competencies in welding and teaching.
- Participation in a mentorship program and educational leadership training during the first year.

- Position is on-site in Tyler, Texas.
- Courses are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Work may be required outside of normal business hours.
- Minimal travel required with a valid Texas driver's license.
