Clover Park Technical College (CPTC) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative instructor to create a supportive environment for adult learners training to become Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT). The role involves teaching various laboratory subjects and collaborating with faculty and student services to enhance student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and lab instruction using diverse teaching techniques.
- Create, implement, and modify curriculum to meet learning outcomes.
- Maintain and manage the classroom environment, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Foster professionalism and mutual respect with students.
- Utilize online learning management systems and incorporate various modalities into curriculum planning.
- Ensure a safe environment through instruction and continuous evaluation.
- Provide career guidance and job placement assistance.
- Assess and provide feedback on student competencies.
- Maintain accurate student progress records and submit grades timely.
- Coordinate teaching and clinical education.
- Supervise applied laboratory learning experiences.
- Actively participate on college committees and in shared governance.
- Promote the program and college through information sessions and events.
- Ensure organization, instruction, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement of the program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with the ability to obtain a master's or doctoral degree within 3 years of hire.
- American Society of Clinical Pathology - Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) generalist certification.
- Minimum of three years of work experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Three years of teaching experience, with one year of bench work substitutable for each year of teaching.
- Experience in educational methods and administration.
- Minimum of thirty-six hours of continuing education in the past three years.
- Ability to contribute to diversity and foster multicultural understanding.
