Overview
The Maintenance Worker position at the City of Florence, Alabama involves performing various labor tasks under the supervision of park management. This part-time role includes maintenance of parks, golf courses, and facilities, ensuring they are clean and ready for public use.
Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains equipment and reports problems to the supervisor.
- Collects and discards trash in parks, centers, or facilities.
- Cuts and trims grass in parks and athletic fields.
- Cleans centers, facilities, restrooms, and buildings.
- Sets up centers, facilities, athletic fields, and buildings for events.
- Prepares tennis courts, ball fields, pools, and other facilities for play.
- Performs daily maintenance such as refueling and checking fluid levels.
- Reports damages observed during work routine to supervisor.
- Stocks supplies and materials.
- Assists supervisor in the operation of center, programs, and facilities.
- Assists with installing or repairing irrigation and drainage systems.
- Assists with spot spraying of chemicals as needed.
- Assists in routine maintenance of ornamental plantings and beds.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read and write.
- Eighteen (18) years old or older.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and weekends.
- Ability to handle public comments and complaints using tact.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively with other personnel.
