Overview

A successful candidate will play an active role in the City of College Park’s operational success by performing regular custodial work in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role involves general maintenance and cleaning of the Georgia International Convention Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and regular cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of floors.
• Collect and dispose of daily garbage.
• Vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Operate power-cleaning equipment, mechanical cleaners, and polishers.
• Mix cleaning agents as directed.
• Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo carpets; empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Dust, wax, wash, and polish furniture, counters, woodwork, and metalwork.
• Clean and wash windows, walls, windowsills, and screens as assigned.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Wet and dry mop floors.
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment as required.
• Perform basic maintenance repairs on buildings.
• Order and maintain inventory of custodial supplies as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in janitorial maintenance and supplies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in communicating with diverse communities.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
• Ability to work independently after training.
• Ability to exert continuous physical effort including frequent bending, walking, and heavy lifting.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.

Additional Information

• Extensive hours and weekends will be required at times.
