Overview
Clackamas Community College (CCC) is seeking a part-time Welding Instructor to join their faculty pool. This position is exempt, union, and non benefits-eligible, aimed at candidates from diverse backgrounds who can contribute to a more equitable educational system.
Responsibilities
- Instructs students in a classroom, lab, or other setting as appropriate.
- Provides student contact before or after class or through telephone or email exchanges.
- Prepares, distributes, and utilizes instructional support materials.
- Structures classes and curriculum to correspond with overall program objectives.
- Develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity.
- Responsible for classroom, laboratory, and departmental equipment.
- Understands and abides by college policies and regulations.
- Convenes classes on time and as scheduled.
- Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students.
- Ensures safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
- May direct aides and work study students as assigned.
- Understands and uses the college’s computer system.
- Provides assistance to other department personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Experience as a welder.
- Experience teaching at another college.
- Supervising experience in the industry.
- Completion of a welding program.
- Current weld certification in the process they may teach.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Additional Information
- This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year.
- Requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of Oregon City, Harmony, or Wilsonville campus.
