Overview

The General Construction Inspector II position is with the State of Hawaii's Department of Transportation, responsible for inspecting public works construction and major maintenance projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently inspect all phases of public works construction and major maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with designs, specifications, and applicable workmanship, material, and safety codes.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent, or work experience demonstrating the ability to read and apply instructions.
• Two years of journey-level experience in one or more construction trades.
• One year of construction inspection work experience or supervisory experience in the construction industry.
• Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of application.
• TWIC clearance required for unescorted access to secured areas at the harbor.
