Overview

The Jail Maintenance Foreman is responsible for performing repair and replacement work in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems for the County's correctional facility buildings. This role includes supervising staff, coordinating projects, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with interviewing, hiring, evaluations, training, and discipline of assigned staff.
• Schedule and assign tasks to skilled trade workers.
• Assist with planning, coordination, monitoring, and cost estimation of projects.
• Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Perform repair, replacement, and maintenance work on facility structure and infrastructure.
• Perform diagnostics on equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain records of work orders, materials, and maintenance logs.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and building codes.
• Supervise inmates as needed.
• Operate specialized plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment.
• Ensure availability of adequate parts and supplies for repairs.
• Maintain safe operating conditions of assigned equipment and tools.
• Perform calculations for various tasks.
• Read blueprint drawings and diagrams.
• Report detected deterioration and maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Operate man lifts up to 28 feet.
• Assist management with responding to critical outages and emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
