Overview

The Welding Adjunct position at Olympic College involves teaching welding classes at the Bremerton and Shelton campuses. The college seeks faculty who support its mission of student success, particularly for diverse and underrepresented groups.

Responsibilities

• Teach college-level course(s) in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
• Provide quality teaching, including related preparation and grading.
• Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
• Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
• Punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
• May include evening instruction.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Requirements

• Five years as a welder and/or as a supervisor of welders.
• Experience in common welding processes like OFC, PAC, CAC-A cutting processes, OAW, and GTAW, GMAW-steel and alum, SMAW, FCAW-SS, and FCAW-GS.
• Teaching experience (desired).
• College degree in a related field (desired).
• Welding certifications (desired).

Additional Information

• This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis.
• Adjunct positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis.
• Adjuncts are not eligible for benefits upon their initial hire.
• The employee must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance of the campus.
