Job Description

Overview

The Wyoming Boys' School in Worland, Wyoming, is seeking a Skilled Trades Specialist to maintain the school's facilities and infrastructure, ensuring a safe environment for staff and students. This hands-on role involves working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as supporting grounds management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct inspections to sustain and improve facility infrastructure.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles, pumps, irrigation systems, and lift stations.
  • Replace light bulbs and ballasts, repair or replace switches and controls.
  • Perform locksmith duties for various types of locks.
  • Prepare bid specifications for repairs and projects.
  • Maintain all vehicles, tractors, utility vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Install, repair, and maintain heating, gas, refrigeration, and air handling systems.
  • Assist with lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal.
  • Manage water and sewer services for state facilities.
  • Review engineering plans for compliance with regulations.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematic drawings.
  • Develop inspection schedules to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Participate in construction and energy management planning.
  • Maintain and inspect petroleum systems for safety and functionality.
  • Plan and perform preventive maintenance for electronic and mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree.
  • 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Skilled Trades.
  • Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and applicable building codes.
  • Experience with woodworking, metalworking, and masonry equipment.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws related to construction and maintenance.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must complete mandatory training.
  • On-call duties for a week at a time on a rotating schedule.
