Tyler Junior College is seeking an Adjunct Professor in Welding Technology to provide classroom instruction and college service while adhering to the institution's commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Maintain current knowledge and experience in the teaching field.

  • Facilitate student learning and successful course completion.

  • Meet all classes as scheduled and maintain office hours.
  • Follow attendance and office hour requirements for online classes.
  • Follow prescribed course syllabi and inform students of outcomes.
  • Support leadership and faculty in implementing improvements.
  • Attend required department and school meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit attendance and grade reports.
  • Model professional conduct and enforce student conduct policies.
  • Network with community members to promote the program.

Requirements

  • Experienced welders may qualify without formal academic credentials if they hold licensure and have extensive work history.
  • Associate’s degree in welding or a combination of industry certifications and work experience.
  • Participation in a mentorship program and educational leadership training during the first year of teaching.

  • All positions are on-site in Tyler, Texas.
  • Work may be required outside of normal business hours.
  • Minimal travel is required; a valid Texas driver’s license is necessary.
  • This is a security-sensitive position subject to a criminal background check.
