Job Description

Overview

Wenatchee Valley College is seeking a full-time welding instructor to enhance workforce education in alignment with regional industry needs. The position involves teaching various welding and metal fabrication courses while developing curriculum and supporting student success.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lecture and laboratory-based welding and metal fabrication courses.
  • Provide safe, high-quality instruction in welding processes and shop practices.
  • Lead curriculum development and course updates based on industry demand.
  • Initiate and guide curriculum proposals through the college approval process.
  • Integrate welding documentation and quality assurance practices into instruction.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communication through learning platforms.
  • Engage with program advisory committee members for workforce alignment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized welding and fabrication laboratory environment.
  • Contribute to program review and regional employer partnerships.
  • Engage in professional development and college service activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Industry-recognized certifications or advanced skill across multiple welding processes.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques and processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach applied welding skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Knowledge of welding blueprints and inspection concepts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Salary range is $72,073 to $84,774 for a 9-month contract.
