Overview
The College of The Albemarle, located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, is seeking an Instructor for Welding Technology to provide education and promote student-centered learning activities. The role involves teaching various aspects of welding, curriculum development, and maintaining an effective learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, teach, and evaluate courses in welding fabrication and repair.
- Update course syllabi as needed each term.
- Develop supplemental teaching materials for courses.
- Implement new teaching strategies and integrate technology in instruction.
- Evaluate textbooks for relevancy and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Stay current with industry technology and standards.
- Submit student data and reports timely.
- Advise students on their progress and provide guidance.
- Participate in curriculum development and planning.
- Maintain a hazard-free environment adhering to safety standards.
- Assist with faculty recruitment and mentoring.
- Participate in professional development activities.
Requirements
- Demonstrated competencies in welding fabrication, inspection, and repair.
- At least two years of work experience in the field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- Knowledge of current welding codes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
