Welding Instructors deliver lectures on welding practices and safety, along with hands-on learning experiences to prepare students for career success in various industries.
Responsibilities
- Teach contracted contact hours per semester.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute current course outlines and syllabi.
- Serve as student advisor as assigned.
- Recruit for department/curriculum as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist in the annual outcomes and assessment process.
- Assist in maintaining department/curriculum equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Assist in registration and orientation as requested by the supervisor.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and staff meetings.
- Keep supervisor informed of matters pertaining to the curriculum.
- Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor and the college.
- Follow policies stated in the policies and procedures manual.
- Obtain required Blackboard training and maintain a Bb course site.
- Submit records and forms in a timely fashion.
- Actively participate in professional organizations.
- Encourage and support college activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies.
- Foster a learning environment that respects diverse perspectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline OR an Associate degree in a welding-related field with demonstrated competencies in teaching OR two or more years of welding-specific industry experience.
- Preferred: AWS certifications and 5 years work-related experience as a welder.
Additional Information
- Occasional travel between campuses and for training may be required.
- Occasional after hours may be required.
- This position requires face-to-face teaching.
