Job Description

Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist IV serves as the primary Quality point of contact for project teams, managing Quality Program deliverables throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring quality standards are met during design, construction, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Quality Assessors.
  • Perform Quality Assessments when required.
  • Engage early with Project teams to prepare the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Conduct quality scope reviews and markups on drawings and documents.
  • Provide Quality deliverables for Construction RFP, Review Specs, OQs, and quality procedures.
  • Deliver Quality Orientations and training for Construction Inspectors and Contractors.
  • Ensure timely completion of Project Quality Submittals and document reviews.
  • Conduct field walks and Quality Assurance health checks onsite.
  • Complete scheduled quality reporting requirements to Project Teams.
  • Accompany Regulators on field audits.
  • Monitor and report on Contractor Quality programs and follow up on improvements.
  • Notify project personnel of significant problems and initiate follow-up.
  • Support quality issues management tools like Quality Enhancement Reporting and Quality Incident Notifications.
  • Provide input to project QER’s and NCR process improvements.
  • Update Quality tools in Share Point as required.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics established by the Supervisor of Quality.

Requirements

  • Recommended 10 years of Oil and Gas Industrial Construction and Quality Inspection and Assessment experience.
  • Preferred Degree or Technical Diploma in certified mechanical trades or Engineering.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and ensure tasks are completed.
  • Recommended Welding Inspector Certification, AWS CWI – API 570 or equivalent.
  • Recommended NACE CIP Level 1, 2, or 3.
  • Understanding of engineering and construction drawings and related documentation.
  • Technical understanding of materials, welding procedures, and non-destructive examination.
  • Knowledge of design and construction standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply Federal and Provincial regulations applicable to pipeline operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, One Drive, and Visio.
  • Time management skills and ability to manage diverse projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently.

Additional Information

  • 50% office environment with 50% travel based on project demands.
  • May include handling of after-hours calls.
