Overview
The Maintenance Worker, Part-Time position involves maintaining County buildings, grounds, athletic fields, equipment, and other facilities. The role includes performing various maintenance tasks and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance work including athletic field maintenance, grounds maintenance, custodial maintenance, and general building maintenance.
- Maintain buildings, equipment, and related facilities; clean restrooms, vacuum floors, inspect lights, and paint surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels of department equipment and materials; ensure availability of adequate materials for work activities.
- Operate various machinery and tools associated with maintenance projects.
- Perform general and preventive maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment.
- Transport, lift, load, and unload equipment and materials.
- Follow safety procedures and utilize safety equipment.
- Prepare and complete various forms and reports.
- Communicate with supervisors and other departments to coordinate work activities.
- Maintain park grounds and athletic fields, including mowing, painting, and repairing facilities.
- Monitor and inspect park facilities for problems and needed repairs.
- Assist with setup of recreational activities.
Requirements
- Two months of previous experience or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, or manual labor.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully complete a criminal justice background check if assigned to Facilities Management.
