Job Description

Overview

A full-time, 9-month instructional faculty position in Engineering Technology-Laser Material Processing is available beginning August 7, 2026. The role involves managing and teaching the Laser Material Processing curriculum and requires proficiency in laser processing fundamentals and related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and teach the Laser Material Processing curriculum.
  • Develop industry-aligned training and curriculum.
  • Use a learner-centered approach to teaching.
  • Incorporate active learning strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
  • Teach in-person and online classes.
  • Advise students academically.
  • Assess student learning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with subject matter experts and industry partners.
  • Participate in college-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in scheduled institutional meetings and activities.
  • Assist in program and College accreditation, curriculum development, and program assessment.
  • Serve on at least one faculty or All-College Committee annually.
  • Teach courses at various times and locations.
  • Participate in student and community activities that promote the College's mission.
  • Assist in articulating courses and programs with secondary and post-secondary institutions.
  • Maintain collegial relationships with other college personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Graduate degrees in relevant areas are a plus.
  • Consideration for applicants with associate degrees and appropriate industry experience.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining laser systems.
  • Experience in developing industry-aligned training and curriculum is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and technology skills.
  • Ability to work in teams.
  • Flexibility to teach day or evening hours.

Additional Information

  • Position is located at the College’s main campus in Springfield with potential to teach at other locations in Beavercreek, Bellefontaine, and Xenia.
  • Position reports to the Dean, School of Business and Applied Technologies.
  • Position will remain open until filled.
