Overview
The Metal Fabricator will execute metal fabrication tasks that align with the company's objectives, analyzing blueprints, designing and fabricating metal structures while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is crucial for the operation of the metal fabrication shop and distribution warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Design, lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.
- Operate and maintain gutter forming machinery and metal fabricating machines.
- Prioritize workplace safety and quality standards in all fabrication activities.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies using various welding equipment.
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse and distribution teams to streamline production processes.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the fabrication process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a metal fabricator with technical knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
- Understanding of engineering blueprints and fluency in English.
- Physical capability to lift weights ranging from 50 to 90 pounds.
- Experience in forklift operation is highly desirable.
- Strong reliability and commitment to safety.
- Eligibility to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of a criminal and driving background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
