Austin Industrial is a premier provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Boilermaker role involves constructing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing stationary steam boilers and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Examine boilers and pressure vessels to locate defects for repair.
• Bolt or arc weld pressure vessel structures and parts together.
• Inspect assembled vessels or components for defects.
• Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using various tools.
• Attach rigging and signal crane operators to lift heavy parts.
• Bell, bead, or weld pressure vessel tube ends for leakproof joints.
• Lay out and mark bending and cutting lines on heavy metal.
• Install various components in drums of water tube boilers.
• Study blueprints to determine part locations and dimensions.
• Straighten or reshape bent pressure vessel plates or parts.
• Shape seams and edges of pressure vessel sections for fit.
• Position and secure structural parts to boiler frames or tanks.
• Locate and mark reference points for boiler foundations.
• Shape or fabricate parts to adapt pressure vessels to premises.
• Clean pressure vessel equipment using scrapers and solvents.
• Install refractory bricks in fireboxes of pressure vessels.
• Assemble large vessels in an on-site fabrication shop.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• NCCER-BM Exch KV certification.
