Overview

Dover Corporation’s Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a global leader in the vehicle service industry, comprising 13 major brands. The Grade 7 Welder position involves performing general structural welding using GMAW and SAW equipment in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general structural welding using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment.
• Make own set-ups including positioning fixtures and setting welding heat.
• Load machine with wire and change gas or add flux as required.
• Check set-up and completed parts to ensure quality.
• Direct the work of a helper when necessary.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Read job travelers for special instructions before proceeding.
• Assist new operators in learning safe equipment operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass general aptitude/basic math skills test.
• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs multiple times per day.
• Must pass welding coupon test.
• Must pass written welding test.
• Knowledge of welding fundamentals and ability to read blueprints.
